      Zelma Gant, a volunteer who worked tirelely for the American Cancer Society in Sacramento until she was 104 and couldn't do it anymore, has died. She was 106.
      Mrs Gant died in her sleep on Thanksgiving morning, said Beth Martinez, marketing director for the American Cancer Society here.
      Her husband and three sons had died of cancer, and she was hopeful of finding a cure, Martinez said. She was very dedicated.
      For five hours a day, three days a week, she worked at the Cancer society's offices for 31 years, Processing mamorials and sensing thank you letter to donors.
      she always showed up for work with a big smile on her face, Martinez said.
      she was very cheerful. When people asked about her ag, she would say, Oh, i feel like I'm 65. If was her mental attitude about life. She had an RT pass, and took the bue. She was very inpendent, and lived alone untill she was 104 and moved into a reidentical care facility.
      Born in Calaveras County, town of West Point, the daughter of Rhoda McKisson and Henry Krim, she was reared in nearby Mokelumne Hill, where her father owned and operated a salon. One of her uncles established the old Buffalo Brewery in Sacramento.
      She moved to Sacramento after high school, working at a variety of jobs. she met her husband to be, Lee Ray Gant, at an ice cream Parlor. They had six children.
      For more than two decdes she was employed by Sears, Roebuck & Co.. in scaramento, retiring from thar j0ob in 1956.Survivors include daughters Zelma Eliabeth Stott of San Anselmo and Ella Flanagan of Sacrmanto; a son Clifford Gant of La Quinta; 11 grand children; 13 great-geat granf children; and at last count about two dozen grear-great-grandchildren
      Serives will be at 10 am. Dec 15 at Masonic Lawn Cemetery, 2700 Riverside Blvd., with one of her grandaughters, the Rev. charlotte Russel, officiating.
